LAOAG CITY, Feb. 28 – Laoag’s health office is now housed in a bigger new building that guarantees more comfort and convenience to both employees and visiting health clients.
The city government upgraded the old city health office with a P4.5 million fund support from the Department of Health through the Department of Public Works and Highways .
“It is a long overdue project and we are happy that finally we have formally opened it for our constituents,” Dr. Renato Mateo, city health officer, said.
The new building is wider with a waiting area that is thrice bigger than the previous structure.
It has a centralized air-conditioning unit and a wide-screen television for waiting clients.
“The anti-red tape monitoring team recommended a bigger waiting area to avoid overcrowding,” Mateo said.
He added the building has a provision for a second floor which is targetted for construction in 2016.
“We are hoping for a second floor. Actually, it is not yet fully finished until we request again for funding from the national government,” he said. (Cherry Joy D. Garma, PIA-1, Ilocos Norte)
