Omar’s siblings to get college scholarship

MARCOS, Ilocos Norte, Feb. 15 (PIA) – The two siblings of slain PNP-SAF trooper PO2 Omar Nacionales received scholarship grants from the Ilocos Norte provincial government to complete their college education. Governor Imee Marcos assured the grant after Florencia Nacionales, Omar’s mother, asked support from her for the continuing education of her two children.

The slain SAF member, when still alive, had been supporting the studies of his two siblings. Marcos said the provincial government will support Omar’s siblings until they finish college.

Earlier, the provincial government gave P100,000 cash assistance to the bereaved family of Nacionales, a native of Barangay Escoda, Marcos, Ilocos Norte.

A provincial board resolution had recognized the heroism of Nacionales who risked his life in their mission to capture two international terrorists on that fateful day of January 25, 2015 in Barangay Tukanalipao, Mamasapano, Maguindanao. (Freddie G. Lazaro/PIA- 1 Ilocos Norte)
