Off-duty GRASMH doctors can practice there privately

LAOAG CITY — Patients at Gov. Roque Ablan Sr. Memorial Hospital here will soon  have the option to avail of provincial government doctors’ services on the latter’s private capacity.
Dr. Roger Braceros, hospital’s chief of clinics said that this new hospital policy is in line with Provincial Ordinance No. 040-2011 which was recently passed by Sangguniang Panlalawigan chaired by Vice Gov. Angelo Barba.
Braceros said that the ordinance authorizes the provincial hospital doctors to practice at GRASMH in their private capacity during their off-duty hours. They can also charge professional fees to their walk-in and private patients.
Patients under this set-up, it was learned, may settle  their accounts at the billing section, not directly to the concerned doctor. (Theo S. Guiang)
