No fake rice – NFA

LAOAG CITY – – National Food Authority provincial manager Beverlyn P. Peralta has assured the public that there is no fake rice being sold in any market here.

She said that they have undertaken a surprise inspection in markets particularly rice stores and retailers here in line with their agency’s directive. So far, they have not found anyone selling fake rice.

Peralta also ordered the creation of the “NFA Palengke Watch Task Force” for the continuous monitoring of any possible entry of synthetic rice in the area.

She further urged the public to be more vigilant and immediately report to authorities any suspected synthetic rice in their respective areas.

She warned all rice traders, retailers, millers and warehousemen not to buy, stock and resell any suspected fake rice.

It was reported earlier that suspected synthetic rice were seized in Davao province recently.
