NFA Ilocos Norte stocks 163,000 sacks of rice

NFA Ilocos Norte – In preparation for the lean period, the National Food Authority (NFA) – Ilocos Norte Branch reported a rice stock inventory of 163,000 bags in its warehouses. These stocks will form part of the Food Security and for relief operations of the province in order to respond immediately in cases of emergencies or adverse situations of calamities that may occur in the province.

The branch accredited retail outlets thru the Institutionalized Bigasan Sa Palengke (IBSP) and Individual Retailers located inside and outside the markets to be able to provide availability, accessibility, affordability of government rice particularly to the marginalized people. Province Manager Beverlyn P. Peralta informed that there are now 57 accredited outlets in the province.
The NFA rice is sold at Php 27.00/kg at the accredited outlets. (Diana Marie G. Agustin)
