DINGRAS, Ilocos Norte (Jan. 11) – Mayor Erdio Valenzuela confirmed that the suspect in the Jan. 10 shooting incident in this town is currently employed as Administrative Aide III in his office.
The suspect, a resident of Brgy. Albano, of this town allegedly shot and wounded a certain Carlos Paghid of Brgy. Dancel, of the same town during a quarrel.
S/Insp. Teddy Rosqueta, police chief, said that the victim and his companions were having a drinking spree in a store when the shooting occurred.
Rosqueta said the suspect voluntarily surrendered later to Mayor Valenzuela who immediately turned him over to the police custody.
The mayor assured that there would be no whitewash in the investigation of the case. (tsg)
