SAN NICOLAS, Ilocos Norte, June 20—Renato Castro Jr., of Brgy. Palungpong, Batac City, was shot and wounded on the left leg by suspected gunmen riding in tandem, a belated police report said.
Castro, probers said, was driving his motorcycle along Brgy. Billoca, Batac City last June 17 when the gunmen fired at him hitting his leg.
Bloodied, he managed to drive his motorcycle as the suspects chased him along the national highways. To elude his attackers, he sought refuge at the nearby Pamulinawen Hotel in Brgy San Guillermo, this town.
Media men were verifying report that responding San Nicolas police operatives later seized from the victim a handgun and a suspected shabu.(tc)
