MINI-INFERNO AT SALT-MAKERS’ PLACE

PASUQUIN, Ilocos Norte, Dec. 18– At least two houses, two salt refineries and a store were gutted by a 30-minute fire of unknown origin at Brgy. Estancia, this town, the Bureau of Fire Protection reported.

BFP officials said the five structures were all made of light materials. The flame quickly spread due to strong winds in the area.

Firefighters from Laoag, Bacarra, Vintar and Sarrat responded and helped the BFP Pasuquin in containing the blaze that erupted at about 2:30 pm Friday.

Witnesses said the incident was like a mini-inferno along the national highways. Nobody was hurt. Cost of damages was still undetermined.(tsg w/ rj report)
