SOLSONA, Ilocos Norte, Feb. 25– Mayor Alex Calucag of this town and his councilor Bob Sacro finally settled their personal differences through a dialogue held at a neutral ground here on Thursday, particularly at the residence of INEC zone manager Engr. Marty Parado.
Councilor Sacro confirmed this development during a media interview this morning saying all is well that ends well. He said he and Mayor Alex hugged each other as an act of reconciliation saying that both admitted that they have their own mistake as nobody is perfect.
The two are political allies and the mayor calls him uncle as the latter’s wife is the mayor’s aunt.
However, a personal rift cropped up last week when an untoward incident occurred between him and the mayor during a Monday’s flag raising ceremony.
It was aggravated when the mayor’s uncle who is also his civil security unit chief allegedly harmed him in a separate incident.
At press time, it was learned that Mayor Calucag in the meantime had directed his uncle CSU chief to go on indefinite leave to cool off while Councilor Sacro said he would no longer take legal action against the CSU officer noting he abhors attending court trials. (tsg w/ report from mma, nrt)
