Lawyer Manrique is Elected PGIN Employees Ass’n Head

Bernard ManriqueLAOAG CITY—The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte Employees Association (PGINEA) has elected a new set of officers during a reorganization held at La Tabacalera hall near provincial capitol here last week.

Lawyer Bernard Manrique was elected as president by fellow PGIN employees. He currently holds post at the Public Employment Service Office/Ilocos Norte Investment Center (PESO/INvest).

Other elected officers were Estrelina Asuncion of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Vice President for Internal Affairs; Dante Madalipay of the Provincial Agriculture Office, Vice President for External Affairs; Wanda Aglipay of Human Resource Management Office, Secretary; Allan Melquiades Agustin of SP, Sub-Secretary; Larissa Foronda of Provincial Health Office, Treasurer, Eva Ibarra of Provincial Planning and Development Office, Sub-Treasurer and Leah Blas of Provincial Budget Office, Auditor.

Elected members of the Board of Directors were: Edwin Cariño of the Millennium Development Goals Office, Enrico Ruiz of the Legal Office; Roderick Basilio of ITC, Dr. Josephine Ruedas of PHO; Ruth Corpuz of Budget; Roland Ross Irapta of the OPAG and Ma. Victoria Manuel of SP.

The election of PGINEA officers was in response to Gov. Imee Marcos’ call to re-organize the association in order to have an active group that would represent the employees in matters affecting their rights and benefits. (Theo S. Guiang with report from Rosita Macalipis, PGIN-CMO)
