LAOAG CITY—City Mayor Chevylle Fariñas called on all fellow Laoagenos to participate in the series of activities lined up for the “Golden Year” charter city celebration, which culminates on June 19, 2015.
The mayor said that the 50-day countdown began on April 30, 2015 with holding of a motorcade and launching of Agserbi 24/7 pro-poor program of the city.
She added that several other activities include the Laoag Sand Dunes Adventure & “Bamboo Boxing” to be held at La Paz on June 13; awarding of top taxpayers on June 15; offering of Golden Tag Discount from June 15-21 by all establishments in the city; distribution of Kabuhayan Projects on June 16, which includes the giving out of 50 Negokarts, 50 Starter Kits, Farm Implements and Packaging Machine; awarding of Sunshine Women on June 17; Mardi Gras & Mujeres Gold on June 18; LCGH Sunshine Baby/ies and a 50 percent discount of patients’ bills at the city hospital on June 19.
As the main highlight of the city’s Golden Year celebration, a morning thanksgiving mass will be offered by city officialdom , followed by the launching of the Laoag City Coffee Table Book and the GLEDCO raffle draw.
In the afternoon of June 19, a ”Parade Iti Naggapuan” will be held, followed by “Dios Ti Agngina” Concert in the evening.
The groundbreaking of the SM Laoag is expected to be held on the same day. (tsg)
