Laoag police station adjudged Best in I.N.

The Laoag Police Station headed by OIC Police Supt. Jeffrey Gorospe was adjudged as the best police station in Ilocos Norte during the past six-month period from January to June this year.

A citation of commendation says the INPPO recognized the LPS for its dedication and commitment having ranked Number 1 among all police stations in Ilocos Norte as exemplified by its police visibility in every part of the city.

Based on its impressive accomplishments, the Laoag Police Station (LPS) had conducted at least 60 successful police operations against criminality in Laoag City including 20 illegal drug buy-bust operations, 11 search warrants and one murder case solved during the January-June 2014 period.

“The INPPO considered the Laoag Police Station as the Best Police Station in Ilocos Norte, Senior Supt. Antonio Mendoza Jr., acting police provincial director, told reporters.

OIC Police Chief Gorospe said he credited the help of BPAT, Bantay Bayan, Guardian and fraternities as multipliers that contributed to the success of police visibility in the city.

No less than Police Chief Supt. Roman Felix, police regional director, personally congratulated Supt. Gorospe, the junior officers and other enlisted personnel of LPS during his visit in the province.

In his brief remarks in front of the ‘Laoag Finest’ at the LPS building, General Felix reiterated to them about the PNP Five-Point Priority Action Plan noting that police work should be aligned to this strategic focus.(jrg/jg/mm)
