PASUQUIN, Ilocos Norte, June 9– It’s very rare to find nowadays a married couple still both alive and kicking at very ripe age of 100.
Somewhere at Brgy. 3, this town, spouses Alfredo Amodo Sr., 101 and Mercedes Amodo, 100, both proved that long life is a real blessing from God.
Close relatives said lolo Fred and lola Merced are God-fearing, sociable, jolly and inseparable. They go to parties together, sing and dance together and prefer vegetables as part of their daily fare.
The Amodo couple have eight children, 31 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren, all living in USA.
Last Saturday, June 6, lola Merced celebrated her 100th birthday and at same she and lolo Fred marked their 84th wedding anniversary. Their US-based children and “apokos” flew back home here and graced the occasion.(tsg with g.a. report)
