I’m God-fearing, says oldest man

PASUQUIN, Ilocos Norte, May 6–Calixto Udaundo of Brgy. Dadaeman of this town celebrated his 100th birthday today. Except for weak legs, relatives said they are hoping his health remains in good shape.

Lolo Calixto proudly says that his virtue as God-fearing is the secret of his prolonged life. He has six children.

In 1970, he immigrated to Hawaii when one of his children petitioned him. During his birthday bash today, he wore a Hawaiian polo shirt, his favorite attire since he came from the Aloha island.

His guests crowned him with flowers as they sang the Padapada Kam birthday song. (Theo S. Guiang)
