Hawaii Airlines to Offer Hawaii-Laoag Connecting Flights Soon

LAOAG CITY (September 27) – Provincial Tourism Officer Joejie Jimenez announced that the Hawaiian Airlines will soon inaugurate its connecting flight from Hawaii to the province of Ilocos Norte, by tying-up with Gokongwei-owned Cebu Pacific Airlines.

He said that based on their meeting held several weeks ago, Hawaiian Airlines announced it is offering customers the convenience of twice-weekly connecting flights between Manila and Laoag City aboard Cebu Pacific Airlines to complement Hawaiian’s Honolulu-Manila service.

The airlines’ new service will begin on November 2, and will allow customers to fly roundtrip from Honolulu to Laoag City, with only one stopover in Manila.

Jimenez said that the connecting flight will boost tourism industry in the province. He also cited the strong ties between Hawaii and Ilocos Norte. This airline service will certainly attract the interest of many balikbayan relatives to come home for a vacation in the province, he added.

Cebu Pacific’s connecting flights schedule from Manila to Laoag City are Mondays and Thursdays. Return flights from Laoag City to Manila are Tuesdays and Saturdays. All connecting flights will provide customers with convenient transfers to Hawaiian’s Honolulu-Manila flights.

Lately, a group of travel tour operators from Hawaii visited the province for a familiarization tour. Jimenez said he is optimistic that these operators will promote the province to many potential tourists clients citing the connecting flight as the ‘selling point’. (Excel Guiang)
