Gov. Imee Mulls Official Newsletter for PGIN

PROVINCIAL CAPITOL, Laoag City (July 08) – Gov. Imee Marcos has tasked the Provincial Information Office (PIO) to put up an official newsletter of PGIN (Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte) to help disseminate vital information and to chronicle all significant events about the programs and activities of her administration.

In a brief meeting called by Governor Marcos with the PIO writers and lensmen this afternoon at her temporary office here, it was learned that there is a need to put up an official publication of the provincial government to help reach out her constituents especially those in the countryside by giving them the reading materials that will regularly inform our city and town folks about the happenings in the PGIN.

The newsletter, its name still in the making, may come out bi-monthly preferably in Iluko dialect. The PIO staff members, whose expertise and skill were honed par excellence by then provincial media czar Lito Gorospe during the term of then Gov. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. (now Senator) are expected to buckle down swiftly in mapping out the newsletter’s maiden issue probably for the months of July and August 2010.

It may be noted that the City Government of Laoag under reelected Mayor Michael V. Fariñas has an existing official publication called Sunshine City newsletter with Ms. Lilian Abijero, city civil registrar, as its editor in chief. (Excel D. Guiang)
