Five Day DREE Seminar Ends Today

The Disaster Response Exchange and Exercise (DREE) which started on August 23 ended today with the distribution of certificates to the participants and the exchange of pleasantries with the city government.

Conducted by the 13th US Air Force with the City Disaster Coordinating Council the five day seminar was comprised of formal presentations, group discussions, group activities and agency equipment demonstrations. These presentations were developed from disaster preparedness and disaster response plans to be used in cases of calamities, natural or man made.

The DREE participants, aside from the CDCC members, included representatives from the JUSMAG, the OCD, the PNP Health Service in Manila, Regional and Local PNP, BFP, Red Cross, PAG ASA, and some Barangay Chairmen of Laoag City. All in all the participants totaled to almost 70.

Hon. Eddie P. Domingo, Vice Mayor of Laoag City, delivered the closing message while SP Member Dr. Dax Dacuycuy and Dep-Ed Superintendent Araceli Pastor gave their impressions and reactions.

The 13th US AIR FORCE will come back in 2012, according to Lt. Col. John Waite, Commander.
