PASUQUIN, Ilocos Norte (Aug. 30) – For four days, fisherman Joseph dela Fuente of Pangasinan has to drink rainwater to survive in the high seas.
Dela Fuente said that he and his fellow fishermen went fishing about 150 nautical miles northeast of Bolinao, Pangasinan amid bad weather. Unluckily, the motor of his boat broke down and he called for help but was separated from his companions.
He said that he tried to sail back to Bolinao but lost direction and drifted. He reached the coastline of Barangay Davila, Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte where rescuers conforted him.
He said that he would go back into fishing when he regains his strength because this is where he gets his income to feed his family. (tsg)
