First PGIN-Laoag City Joint Halloween Party

This year’s celebration of the Halloween Party of the Provincial and City governments was a first ever and one of its kind!

Spearheaded by Governor Imee Marcos and City Mayor Michael V. Fariñas, employees of these two local government units trooped to the Centennial Arena in the afternoon of October 29 to participate in the different games and activities prepared by the numerous clustered departments of both LGUs.

Eerie and creepy are words not enough to describe the atmosphere inside the well decorated arena, highlighted by real coffins spread all over the place! A well respected local band welcomed everyone as it successfully tried to break the staleness of the hair-raising atmosphere!

As soon as the two local Chief Executives had delivered their welcome messages, parlor games followed, simultaneous with the Search for the Scariest Costume of the Night and the on-the-spot contest for the Most Horrifying look of the Night! Cash prizes were awarded to all the winners.

And as in the real nature and custom of a wake, native delicacies like miki, arrozcaldo, linapet, patupat, busi, and pilais were served to everyone.

It was a night to behold with all those fabulous costumes, the perfectly designed stage, real props and decorations of the venue, a hearty “meal”, and most of all, the warm camaraderie among all the employees!

It was indeed a true manifestation of our leaders’ resolve of “One Ilocos Norte!” This is just the start of a lot more activities to come where both Laoag City and Ilocos Norte will jointly host!
