Feb. 10 is non-working holiday in Laoag City

LAOAG CITY, February 1 (PIA) –February 10, 2016 is a special non-working holiday in Laoag City in celebration of its 20th Pamulinawen Festival.

In a Presidential Proclamation Order No. 1207 signed by Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa, Malacañang recognized the annual fiesta celebration of Laoag in honor of its patron St. William the Hermit.

“It is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Laoag be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies,” Ochoa stated in the proclamation.

This year’s celebration of the Pamulinawen Festival, will showcase anew the lively street-dancing and pageantry, ‘Dulang’ Festival which promotes food ingenuity, the colorful Calesa parade and the Search for Miss Pamulinawen 2016.

The grand parade will also expect to draw a big crowd. (tsg w/ report)
