Family of OFW who died in Dubai seeks assistance from Phil govt

SARRAT, Ilocos Norte (Jan. 17)– The family of a deceased Overseas Filipino Worker who died in Dubai, United Arab Emirates has doubted the cause of his death.

Joseph Suguitan said that his whole family was shocked when his brother Willie Suguitan, 36, married and a resident of Sarrat, Ilocos Norte reportedly died in Dubai of an abdominal infection.

Suguitan said that his brother was confined last November 30 at a hospital in Dubai due to hernia where he undergone surgery.

He added that his brother remained unconscious for seven days after he was injected with an anesthesia. Willie died last December 30, he said.

He said that his family is seeking the help of the Philippine government to conduct autopsy on the body of the deceased OFW to determine the real cause of his death as they suspected a cover-up of the real cause of death of the migrant worker.
