Ex-village chieftain in coma

PINILI, Ilocos Norte (Jan. 20) – A former village chieftain is in critical condition after he was reportedly mauled at Brgy. Dalayap of this town.

S/Insp. Artemio Clemente, town’s chief of police, said that initial investigation showed that the victim, Samuel Ragus was mauled allegedly by Aniceto Daduyo and his son, Jayson of the same barangay.

“Nagtalinaed a comatose iti Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center iti Batac City ti maysa a dati a kapitan ti barangay kalpasan a maipagarup a namalmalo iti Brgy. Dalayap, Pinili, Ilocos Norte”, Clemente said.

Reports also showed that the younger Daduyo allegedly hit the victim with a piece of wood while the elder Daduyo held the victim’s  hands.

Doctor at the Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in Batac City later confirmed that the victim is now in coma.
