PASUQUIN, Ilocos Norte, Dec. 12– A Nissan Navara pick-up allegedly driven by former Bangui mayor Wilfred Gaces, 66, accidentally bumped an improvised tricycle called Kurong-kurong along the national highway in Brgy. Ngabangab, this town, lawmen said.
Police report identified the fatality as Jason Sugui, a co-rider of Kurong-kurong driver Kennedy Salvador, 45, businessman, who was also injured.
Gaces claimed that he accidentally bumped the kurong2 in front of his car after he was blinded by the glaring headlights of an incoming car from the opposite direction.
He voluntarily surrendered to the police assistance center in Bacarra town.(tsg/tc-bbr/ga)
