Ex-inmate nabbed for growing ‘Mary Jane” plants

LAOAG CITY (May 4) – A local resident of this city was arrested for allegedly raising ten fully-grown marijuana plants in his open lot located at Brgy. Buttong here.

Albert Lavilla of nearby Brgy. Raraburan claimed that he had no idea that the seeds, given to him by his fellow inmates were actually seeds of marijuana. He was a former jail inmate in Tagudin, Ilocos Sur.

He added that he was told that the marijuana leaves are effective medicines for cough and stomachache.
