Ex-Ilocos Norte PD assumes as new RD

Chief Superintendent Roman Felix, former Director of Police Security and Protection Group (PSPG) took over the helm of the Philippine National Police Regional Office-1 (PRO1) last May 27 as acting Regional Director based at Camp Florendo, San Fernando City, La Union.

Police General Felix, who was formerly assigned at the PNP’s Camp Crame Headquarters in Quezon City, replaced Chief Superintendent Moro Virgilio Lazo, deputy regional director for administration (DRDA), who served as officer-in-charge of PNP Ilocos for six months. General Lazo is a native of Laoag City and brother of Ilocos Norte provincial board member Vicentito “Toto” Lazo.

In a press statement, Felix said his priority agenda include more police visibility deployments; strong community partnership and collaboration; enhancement of disaster preparedness and response operation capability; review of the PRO1’s scorecard; and assess whether the PNP’s strategies and initiatives are responsive to the problems on the ground.

“All programs must be aligned to the strategic focus of our Chief PNP General Alan Purisima’s “CODE P: 2013 and Beyond,” Felix said.

Felix, a native of Tuguegarao, Cagayan, assumed the post following an order issued by the PNP National Headquarters dated May 23.

He thanked President Aquino, Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas and Purisima for entrusting him the stewardship of PRO1.

Felix is a member of the Philippine Military Academy class 1983. He started as Junior Officer of the La Union Provincial Command and assumed various assignments outside Region 1.

He served as police provincial director in Ilocos Norte before he assumed three posts at the PRO1 as regional chief directorial staff (RCDS), deputy regional director for operations (DRDO) and DRDA.(Miriam P. Aquino/PIA)
