BADOC, Ilocos Norte, June 26 – A retired military officer was shot and killed by lone gunman just after he came from a hospital, police authorities reported.
Lawmen identified the fatality as former army sergeant Bernardo Laeno of Brgy. Sta. Cruz, this town. Initial investigation showed that the victim just came from a hospital when the suspect fired at him.
Found at the crime scene were five empty shells and two slugs of caliber .45 pistol bullets. Motive of the slay remained unknown.(BB)
