DOTA gamer slain by pal

LAOAG CITY (Jan. 14) – Following an alleged heated argument over a DOTA game, a 25-year-old man was stabbed to death by his bosom friend during an incident at Brgy. 2 this city yesterday.

Police identified the victim as Ferdinand Madamba Jr., while the suspect is the victim’s longtime friend identified as Mark Frank “Puti” Pascual.

Investigation showed that while the two were playing the online game Defense of the Ancients popularly known as DOTA, they had a heated argument which ended to a fistfight.

Later on, the victim was seen lying in a pool of blood after a few minutes.

The victim, who succumbed to stab wounds on his neck and stomach, was a former delivery boy of frozen foods and a well-known basketball player here.

Authorities have launched a manhunt operation against the suspect who immediately fled the crime scene after the incident. (tsg)
