A total of 13 scholar-graduates of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region 1 passed the Registered Agricultural Engineers (RAE) and Registered Electrical Engineers (REE) board examinations held recently.

The 13 board passers include nine (9) Electrical Engineers and four (4) Agricultural Engineers from three State Universities namely, Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) in La Union; Mariano Marcos University (MMSU) in Ilocos Norte; and Pangasinan State University (PSU) in Pangasinan.

Meanwhile,Vanesa C. Balagot and Louise Jill R. Rabanillo from DMMMSU-North La Union Campus together with Shaira Camille Macugay and Karylle Pearl P. Tabin of MMSU also passed the board examination for Agricultural Engineers held last August.

While the DOST is continuously extending financial assistance to deserving students enrolled under S&T Courses, it also helps scholar-graduates to be employed immediately as teachers of science and mathematics in private or public secondary schools in order to enhance science, mathematics, and engineering education.

With this, Ms. Adelisa C. Florendo, DOST 1 Scholarship Coordinator challenged all scholar- graduates to keep on making a difference by achieving more. “Pay it (scholarship grants) forward, by practicing your profession in the right way and helping others. In the end, you will create change and development for the nation,” she ended. (by Florde Liza L. Alida)
