DINGRAS, Ilocos Norte (Jan. 11) – Police authorities have theorized that the suspected slayers of Brgy. Purruganan Chairman Maridel Valencia and his companion were hired killers.
Police said that the suspects are members of the gun-for-hire syndicate operating in the province.
Lawmen said Valencia and Deo Arquelada were waylaid by two suspects riding in tandem aboard a motorcycle in Marcos town last week.
Arquelada died on the spot, while Valencia died later at the Vigan City Metro Hospital in Ilocos Sur.
Motive of the killing remains unknown. (edg)
