Cry For Justice

CAMP JUAN, Ilocos Norte — The family members of two-year-old Rhauz Angelo Corpuz, who was killed by a stray bullet during the New Year’s revelry in Barangay 3 Lusong, San Nicolas, this province, are crying for justice.

The remains of Corpuz was finally laid to rest yesterday morning at the public cemetery in San Nicolas.

It may be recalled that the toddler was sleeping inside their house when the stray bullet pierced through the roof and hit the victim’s head.

The slug of a .45-caliber gun was extracted from the victim’s head. He was in comatose and died two days later at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Laoag City General Hospital.

Aniceta Corpuz, the victim’s mother, vowed to pursue the case against the gunman once identified by police investigators.

Sadly, the task force created to identify and arrest the culprit has, so far, came up empty-handed. (Freddie G. Lazaro)
