PIDDIG, Ilocos Norte (March 21) – Ronie Antonio and his wife Mildred survived a bloody ambush attempt along the national highway at Brgy. Boyboy, this town yesterday.
The couple of Brgy. San Esteban, Dingras town were riding in their motorcycle to attend the Sunday mass when two gunmen riding in tandem fired at them.
Mildred was shot and wounded in the abdomen, while Ronie was hit in the left leg. Both are now out of danger, doctors said.
SOCO team found seven empty shells for cal. 45 pistol bullets at the crime scene.
Police said motive maybe business rivalry as the victims are engaged in buy-and-sell of palay and corn. (tsg)
