LAOAG CITY –Employees of the Laoag City government who have the passion for guns, have formed their own association called CHaPS or City Hall Practical Shooters.

The Club primarily aims to instill the principles of responsible gun ownership while promoting the sport of practical shooting.

At the helm of the Club are General Services Officer Mr. Benedicto T. Castro and Assistant Treasurer for Operations Mr. Diomedes Gayban, who are busy preparing for the 1st CVF – MVF “Walang Iwanan” Fun Shoot on August 26, 2013 at the PINS Shooting Range in Barangay Talingaan, Laoag City.

This will be part of the “A Cause For August” celebrations, a yearly undertaking of the City government in celebration of the birthday of Vice Mayor Michael V. Fariñas who initiated the annual event.

This Fun Shoot is open to all employees of the Laoag City government, including the national agencies within the jurisdiction of Laoag City, specifically the DILG family. According to Mr. Castro, this is one way of fostering camaraderie amongst the employees of the City.

Interested parties may proceed to the Office of Mr. Castro or Mr. Gayban. (City Info Officer Ramon B. Formantes)
