City awaits DENR’s approval

LAOAG CITY (Dec. 10) – Laoag City Mayor Michael Fariñas said that the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Regional Office has no action on the city government’s application of at least 71 hectares of land to be used for its low-cost Housing Project here.

Fariñas said that series of follow-ups have been undertaken but, as of today, no positive response from the regional office had been received by his office.

He said that in case no development will take place in the coming days, he will pursue the application himself to  know what is taking it too long.

He  said the city government plans to break ground the project this coming year.  (edg)
