SARRAT, Ilocos Norte (June 1) – A village peacekeeper was fatally shot in Brgy. San Leandro of this town by an unidentified assailant.
Investigation showed that the victim and his wife were tending to their farm, when suddenly three gunshots rung out. The wife scampered for safety when she saw bloodied Maximo who fell to the ground.
Police recovered four empty shells for bullets of .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.(tsg with reports from ml/ga/jg)
