Bodies of two plane crash victims in I. Sur retrieved

SANTIAGO, Ilocos Sur (October 22) — The bodies of the two passengers of the Cessna plane that crashed in waters off the coast of this town on Friday were finally retrieved.

The rescuers from the Philippines Coast Guard, together with local fishermen plucked the bodies of John Kaizan Estabillo, 21, of Parañaque and Paula Bianca Robles, 25, of Quezon City, the next day at the cove in Barangay Sabangan , this town.

Ilocos Sur Governor Ryan Singson, who personally headed the retrieval operation, said it was called off Friday night, due to zero visibility.

Record shows the Cessna training plane is owned by Leading Edge International Aviation, a private air flying school based in San Fernando City, La Union.

Estabillo was the plane’s instructor pilot and  Robles as the student pilot, it was reported.

Local residents aired their concern over the impending oil-spill if the ill-fated plane is not immediately salvaged. (tsg)
