BJMP Laoag City Joins Brigada Eskwela 2013

The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology – Laoag City Jail actively participated in the annual Brigada Eskwela program of the Department of Education last May 22.

LCJ personnel led by warden, J/SINSP HERMINIGILDO B RIVERA helped fix and clean the

school facilities at the nearby Sta. Maria Elementary School and the Ilocos Norte Regional School of Fisheries in Brgy. La Paz, Laoag City.

Warden Rivera said that joining the program is one way of giving back to the community especially the Department of Education for their continued support to the welfare and development of persons deprived of liberty particularly in extending continuous education to the inmates.

He also said that the program is an opportunity for the Jail Bureau to continuously create positive image and raise the level of public awareness and consciousness towards the jail as an organization similarly concerned with the interest of the public.

The Brigada Eskwela program of the Department of Education aims to elicit the cooperation of the community, other government and non-government agencies and the parents of the pupils in preparing the school for the start of classes by cleaning the classrooms and the vicinity of the school, repairing of chairs, desks, windows, leaking roofs and others.
