BATAC CITY, February 14 (PIA) – Teachers can now acces e-books, researches and lecture materials under the new mobile application that the City Schools Division of Batac (CSDB) has launched.
The mobile app designed for android phones is one of the division’s top banners this year as it continues to promote the utilization of information and communications technology (ICT) in the academic arena.
“Our division is one of the few, if not the first, to have a mobile application like this,” John Paul Viernes, Learning Resource Management Officer, said.
Upon visiting the application, the user is provided with complete information about the schools and heads including their contact details.
Because it is a technology-based instructional material, teachers can gather appropriate and well-evaluated learning resources that can aid them in the teaching-learning process in just one click.
Vilma D. Eda, schools division superintendent, said that the app is the answer to the growing demand of computer literacy and modernization.
“We must excel in our endeavor to deliver quality and relevant education to our school children. We must make any sacrifice to give them what they need,” said Eda.
Aside from the materials, the app also previews a live stream of the posts made in the CSDB in their Facebook page where bulletins, office and division memorandums are posted.
For the students, the application is also equipped with support materials that can be used for gathering information like a web-based dictionary and other relevant resources.
“Since ICT in education is growing in demand as manifested by the revolutionary developments in computer technology, the application includes accessible features which are very beneficial to all the division personnel, school heads, and teachers,” Eda said.
During the launching, Eda challenged the students and teachers to continue taking steps to keep in stride with the digital age so that they will not be left behind.
“Do well in your ICT-based action researches. Don’t let anyone do it for you. We learn best when we do something independently,” she said.
Meanwhile, Eda said that an ICT Congress which will be conducted on March 5 to showcase the talents and skills of teachers and learners.
The event will be also be a venue to present the best ICT-based action researches conducted this school year, discuss the skills and competencies needed for the 21st century teachers and learners, highlight the best practices of teachers on ICT integration, and showcase the students’ ICT-based outputs.
