LAOAG CITY, Aug. 15 – Vice Gov. Angelo Marcos Barba expressed optimism over the commercial agriculture program of the provincial government, especially on the dragon fruit industry.
Barba gave this statement shortly after arriving from a business trip in Vietnam. The foreign tour was led by Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos.
He said Vietman is known as producer and exporter of quality dragon fruits. In Ilocos Norte, he said, about 60 hectares were already planted with dragon fruit plants. The plantation will expand to 300 hectares to produce more fruits for global markets, he added.
