BADOC, Ilocos Norte, May 1 (PIA) – Local folks of this historic place celebrated their town’s tri-centennial (300 years) foundation which coincided with the Bado-Badoc Festival.

The town showcased its products made of corn husks and Bado-Bado grass, which is indigenous in its riverbanks. These raw materials can be fashioned into baskets, table-runners and decorations.

To mark its foundation anniversary, a marker was unveiled in the presence of Mayor Arlene Torralba and Vice Mayor Tomas Torralba and all religious leaders in this town.

Badoc town is the pilgrimage site of the Diocesan Sanctuary of Our Lady Cause of Our Joy or the La Virgen Milagrosa church. It is also the hometown of the Luna brothers– the famous Filipino painter Juan Luna and well-known revolutionary General Antonio Luna. (MCA/FGLazaro/ PIA – 1 Ilocos Norte)
