MAGSINGAL, Ilocos Sur, April 7—Police said a jailed stepfather denied allegation that he mauled to death a one-year-old son of his live-in partner but later he admitted he hit the child’s forehead.
Investigators said the victim was declared dead on arrival in a district clinic of this town. The child’s frail body bore several contusions believed inflicted about three to four days ago.
Neighbors claimed that they sometimes heard the boy crying in pain under the care of the stepfather while the mother was not around at home, reports said.(RG)
