SPO2 Jonathan Alonzo was designated the new PNP traffic division chief in Laoag City effective April 26 as part of the routinary revamp in the police system, a report said.
He replaced SPO2 Sean Francis Bugaoisan who will serve as complaint desk officer, a position held by Alonzo prior to his new assignment.
Alonzo, 42, now 18 years in service, was first assigned to the National Capital Region, Metro Manila and later reassigned in Laoag as investigator.
Upon assumption office, he vowed to streamline the traffic system in the city in an effort to ease the present traffic woes.
It was learned that he reshuffled the different posts of the traffic aides. He directed them to enforce, without fear or favor, all city ordinances on traffic rules, especially illegal parking and abusive tricycle drivers, among others. (tsg w/ ga report)
