ADAMS, Ilocos Norte, April 7–Vice Mayor Wagner Poking of this upland town reported that the sanggunian bayan which he chairs as presiding officer has passed a municipal resolution seeking Congress to create five new barangays in this municipality.
At present, Adams has only one legally registered barangay called Brgy. Adams.
The resolution said the five new villages will be named barangays Saplid, Bugnay, Bucarot, Poblacion Uno and Poblacion Dos.
Poking said formal copies of the SB resolution were filed with the House of Representatives and Senate office through first district Congressman Rodolfo Farinas and Senator Bongbong Marcos, respectively.
The proposed new barangays will be exempted from rules on prohibition of limited land area and population because Adams is the place of cultural minorities, Poking told reporters.(tsg w/ rs & rs report)
