VENDETTA KILLING?

PAOAY, Ilocos Norte, July 18–Probers were looking into the revenge angle as the motive behind the ambush-slay of farmer Sonny Mangligot, 33, of Brgy. Monte this town. Driving his tricycle, Sonny was repeatedly shot by two motorcyclists riding in tandem near the border of Paoay and Currimao towns this morning.

SUICIDE IN DEEP WELL

PINILI, Ilocos Norte, July 18–Due to apparent persistent pain caused by post-myoma (tumor) operation, Ester Sadangil, 48, of this town but native of Cagayan ended her life by allegedly diving into a deep well in their backyard at Brgy. Pagdilao. She drowned as the body bore no sign of foul play, police chief Jef Antalan said.

RISKY ZIGZAG ROAD

BANGUI, Ilocos Norte, July 19– Motorists, be extra careful when negotiating the downhill Baruyen zigzag road near the view deck here. Villagers said several road accidents had occurred here in the past describing the zigzag as “treacherous”. Latest was 16-wheeler truck that fell into a cliff. Its driver and aide were hurt as they jumped off the truck.

PDEA TEAM APOLOGIZES

LAOAG CITY, July 20– A PDEA team apologized to PD S/S Marlou Chan for failure to coordinate with the INPPO that led to suspicion that a couple nabbed by its agents was “kidnapped” last night at Brgy. Nangalisan here. It arose from a report that armed men aboard an unmarked vehicle had “snatched” a certain Raffy and his partner. The PDEA team leader explained to Colonel Chan that they collared the couple during the anti-drug operation.
