SAN NICOLAS, Ilocos Norte, Aug. 4– A 6-year-old school boy was found wandering along the national highway in Brgy. Nagrebcan, this town amid heavy rains in suspicious look: his mouth was gagged and hands hogtied with packing tape. Probers initially declined to surmise if the boy was a kidnap victim. A tanod who rescued the child said a tricycle dropped the victim in the roadside and fled to an unknown direction. Lawmen were verifying report that the kid is a pre-schooler in Laoag City.

BACARRA, Ilocos Norte, Aug. 3– Franklin del Rosario woke up early this morning as usual daily routine to herd his farm animals. He had no premonition that a tragedy would strike him at sunrise that would end his dearly life. A gunman, believed to be known to him, allegedly intruded in his front yard, then both had a brief altercation, cops said. Gunfire rung out and Franklin emerged bloodied. The culprit escaped as Franklin called neighbors for help to bring him to the hospital.. His mom described her slain son as a reputed good man in their village.

PINILI, Ilocos Norte, Aug. 4– While many suicides used guns or ropes to end their life, Ronald Pagdilao allegedly gulped a liquid poison to meet the Grim Reaper. Cops found an apparent suicide note near his body at the scene. In his parting words, he asked his wife to take care of their children.
