PIDDIG, Ilocos Norte, June 2–Visiting Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu said today that a group of suspended DENR employees of the province met him yesterday to seek help about their suspension problem.
In an ambush interview, Cimatu who visited this town about the model coffee plantation told reporters that he could not make any comment yet about the matter as he has no background on their suspension case.
He said that to be fair he would study first the case as well as ask his staff to have a full knowledge before he could say something about it.
A report said that at least eight employees of DENR and CENTRO in Ilocos Norte led by provincial DENR OIC Victor Davalos were preventively suspended for 60 days in connection with the alleged questionable housing project for DENR employees in 2012.
The eight workers were suspended to ensure that they would not influence the ongoing investigation, the report added.(w/ report from g.a.)
