8 stolen piglets recovered

PASUQUIN, Ilocos Norte, May 30–Eight stolen piglets, valued at about P24,000 and owned by market supervisor Seifredo Valdez, were recovered two days after the incident in Brgy. Nagsanga, this town, report said.

Valdez said at least two suspects, who are personally known to him, were caught in possession of the stolen piglets when lawmen raided their hideout.

Earlier, some civilians saw the suspects chasing in the neighborhood some piglets that got loose from a cage. Sensing that the piglets were the stolen ones as broadcast in the radio, they tipped off the police.

He said the suspects were former inmates of the Ilocos Norte provincial jail in Laoag City. Both were freed on probation when they were arrested for this latest theft incident.(tsg with jm, rs, kl, ga report)
