PAGUDPUD, Ilocos Norte, April 18 – The whole province of Ilocos Norte was shaken by a 4.4 magnitude earthquake which centered in this coastal town at about 7:28 a.m on Monday.
In a report by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the recent earthquake was described as tectonic in origin and located 22 kilometers northwest of Pagudpud.
Intensity 1 was also felt in Laoag City and Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte and Intensity 2 in Claveria, Cagayan.
Phivolcs said that no damages were reported in the areas but alerted the local residents of possible landslide incidents due to its high magnitude. (tsg)
