34 mayors from I. Sur turn negative in drug test

VIGAN CITY, Ilocos Sur – Ilocos Sur Gov. Ryan Singson was delighted over the result of the drug test initiated to all mayors in the province.

He said that he is grateful that no one among them is a drug addict.

The drug testing was in line with the campaign of the current administration against illegal drugs.

He, however, was particularly saddened over the refusal of Tagudin mayor Roque Verzosa to undergo drug test.

We do not know why he deliberately declined to undergo drug test.

Mayor Verzosa reacted and disclosed that there was no need for him because he had already undergone recent drug test together with all the employees in the municipal hall of Tagudin.

Earlier, Gov. Singson had ordered the drug testing to all employees of the provincial capitol wherein a lone employee turned positive in illegal drugs. He was immediately dismissed from the provincial government, it was learned. (tsg)
