311 PNP recruits undergo training

CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO, San Fernando, La Union – A total of 311 newly appointed police recruits bid farewell to their respective families and loved ones as they departed for one-year training after they took their oaths here at Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) on Tuesday morning (February 1).

Police Chief Superintendent Gregorio R. Pimentel, Regional Director of PRO1 administered their oath of office and congratulated them for passing the rigid screening process set by the Philippine National Police and strictly implemented by the PRO1’s Regional Screening Committee (RSC).

In his message, PCSupt. Pimentel challenged the new recruits to become the agents and implementers of change and to work hard for the country. He likewise stressed to them to become the core of the new police force. “Nobody is perfect, but as long as we know what we are doing, as long as we understood what we have sworn, there’s no way that we will go wrong” he said.

“Always think good so that you will all become good officers and men of the PNP. Mula ngayon isipin ninyo na iba kayo sa lahat dahil kayo ang mga pulis ni Presidente Duterte. I challenge each and every one of you to start well, start good and finish good,” PCSupt. Pimentel stressed.

The Regional Director also challenged the leadership of Regional Training Center 1 (RTC1) to give the best training and transformation for the recruits. “I want to start a training that will develop each and every recruit a new breed of officer. An officer that cannot be corrupted, officer that can say no to drugs and officer that is willing to fight against criminality,” he added.

The 311 new police recruits composed of 100 females and 211 males were sent to the Regional Training Center 1 (TRC1) in Aringay, La Union for 12-month Field Training Program.

A Police Officer 1, the lowest rank in the PNP Organization, will be receiving a monthly basic pay of P14,834.00 exclusive of allowances while undergoing training. (PRO1)
