CAMP JUAN, Laoag City, Dec. 22– Three suspected “hit” men were arrested at the vicinity of the St. Augustine Church in Paoay, Ilocos Norte during the “Simbang Gabi” at dawn of Saturday, Dec. 20, police authorities here said.
Lawmen seized cal. 45 pistol, cal. 38 revolver and several live bullets from two of the suspects. The third guy was unarmed. They also impounded two motorcycles believed to be owned by the suspects.
Camp officials here said unconfirmed report revealed that the trio had a mission to assassinate a prominent person in Paoay.
However, the suspects denied the allegation when they talked to reporters who visited them at their detention cell.(jm/ad/rj/rydd)
